"TUS in action"

Social skills should be developed during training in natural situations, but also shaped during various educational and upbringing activities. Specially designed group classes in the field of social skills training organized on the school premises by certified TUS trainers with two classes of students with moderate and severe intellectual disability and autism can help here. Social Skills Training (TUS) is an evidence-based therapeutic method used to develop an individual's social competences. Allows
training specific skills and acquiring new experiences in a controlled manner. The TUS method, therefore, involves breaking down social behaviors and then teaching them in small steps.
The assumption of innovation is the implementation of classes provided for in its curriculum developing students' social skills and their generalization in various environments. Its main goal is to develop students' social competences. Specific objectives are: experience by the participants of the classes of acceptance and respect from an adult other than a parent, experience by participants of the classes of success in relationships with peers, shaping, training and consolidation of skills, psychoeducation,
shaping the ability to recognize and name emotions, implementing to control emotions, improving the ability to understand social norms, implementing to comply with social norms, shaping the ability to wait for one's turn, developing basic communication skills, improving skills in verbal and non-verbal communication (including: using AAC), developing theory of mind, shaping self-knowledge and self-awareness, building assertive Attitude
Introducing other people's boundaries to awareness, learning how to cope with difficult situations, shaping cooperation skills and building relationships between participants.
Classes are based on a fixed scheme consisting of three parts. Each class should start with experience, becoming the basis for cognitive reflection, and then create an opportunity to generalize experiences to new situations in everyday life.
