Laboratories of the Future is an educational initiative implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science in cooperation with the GovTech Center in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

The aim of the program is to support primary schools in building creative and technical competences among students.

As part of the Laboratories of the Future, Primary School No. 5 Special operating in the School Complex named after Brother Alojzy Kosiba in Wieliczka received support in the amount of PLN 30,000.00, thanks to which the school's didactic base was enriched. The modern equipment purchased as part of the program will make educational and rehabilitation activities more attractive and will allow students to develop their interests in extracurricular activities.

First steps of the "Laboratories of the Future"

The "Laboratories of the Future" program has been present in our school since the first of September 2022. It is an educational initiative implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science in cooperation with the GovTech Center in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. As part of the program, equipment was purchased to make school classes more attractive, which significantly affects the activity of students, stimulates their creativity and promotes the development of interests.

Students of the 8U branch together with the teacher learned about the construction and operation of the 3D pen. Using a pen and letter templates, the students created spatial initials for their name. Working with a pen, they practiced concentration of attention, patience, improved the ability of eye-hand coordination and improved fine motor skills. Working with a pen turned out to be a difficult challenge, but students will be happy to take it up again. We wish them good luck.

Pyrograph in "Laboratories of the Future"

Students of our school actively participate in the educational initiative implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science in cooperation with the GovTech Center in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. The aim of the initiative is to support primary schools in building among students the competences of the future from the so-called STEAM directions (science, technology, engineering, art
and mathematics).

Primary school students use teaching aids purchased under the program during various educational activities, e.g. students of classes 5L and 8L during technical lessons, under the watchful eye of a teacher, they trained in using a pyrograph, i.e. a wood burner. The task performed by the students was multi-stage and included: selecting and searching for the appropriate pattern on the Internet, printing the pattern, reflecting it on wood, firing it using a pyrograph and coloring the resulting picture. Therefore, the youth improved visual-motor coordination and fine motor skills, and also practiced concentration of attention. The task, although difficult, was a success – satisfied students took home the products of their work.
