Developing movement method

Veronica Sherborne's Method of Developing Movement

The name of the method – Developing Movement – reflects its main assumptions, i.e. developing awareness of our own body and the space around us, motor improvement, sharing space with other people and establishing close contact with them using movement and touch.
1.Exercises to get to know your own body
Example exercises: hitting the floor with your feet, rubbing your foot against your foot, tapping your knees
about yourself, tapping elbows on the floor, massaging thighs, calves, feet, patting on the stomach, lifting
and lowering arms, crossing hands, grabbing ears, inflating cheeks and patting each other on the cheeks, blinking eyes, showing nose, ears, eyes, forehead with closed eyes, etc.
2. Exercises to gain self-confidence and a sense of security in the environment
Sample exercises:
"Top" – Children sit on the floor with their legs bent at the knees and slightly raised. Repelling with their hands, each tries to independently rotate around its axis.
3. Exercises to help you connect and collaborate with your partner and group
Exercises to facilitate contact can be divided into three groups:
Exercises based on the "Z" relationship
"Rolling on the floor" – An adult kneels on the floor next to a child lying next to him. The child is lying on his back on the floor. The adult tries to slightly and slowly turn (roll) the baby on his stomach.
Exercises based on the "against" relationship
"Star" – Children lie in a circle on the floor on their stomachs (with their heads turned to the center of the circle), holding hands tightly. Adults kneeling next to children try to separate the children by separating them from each other by dragging them by their feet outside the circle.
Exercises based on the relationship "together"
"Bicycle" – Children lie on their backs on the floor with their legs raised up and bent at the knees and rest their feet on each other, and then they perform the so-called bicycle with their legs (circular movements outside
and inward).
4.Creative exercises
All aspects of the movement are developed in exercises proposed by the group members. A special type of creative exercises worth recommending in working with young children are exercises with music in the form of dance. "Creative" exercises allow you to establish and deepen interpersonal relationships, get to know situations that the practitioner might not experience in other conditions. During the classes, each child can be a creator to the extent he wishes.
