"CULTURALLY AND SAFELY" or how to behave well in public space.

Young people nowadays are very expressive, curious about the world, willing to participate in social life and ready for great adventures. Young people with intellectual disabilities who attend our school, like their peers in the intellectual norm, would very much like to be independent and at "any price"
wants to prove that he does not need support and help from adults. Intellectual and motor deficts, which, however, often make that, despite great desire and self-confidence, a walk along the street, a stop at the bus stop, a trip by public transport or small shopping turn into a huge challenge, which in a fairly quick way
The pace can end in trouble or worse, an accident. In times of danger, it is very important to react appropriately and remind yourself how to behave.
Exercise makes perfect – and this innovation is designed to consolidate in students with intellectual disabilities the correct rules of behavior in public space, which includes traffic and the use of public transport, the ability to call for help in the event of a threat and to strengthen the principles of savoir-vivre towards people who accompany them on their journey.
OBJECTIVE: To prepare students for prudent, independent and safe participation in public space.
IMPLEMENTATION DATE: January 2023 – May 2023
METHODS:
1. giving: talks, lectures, film screenings, screenings, observations;
2. Activating: practical classes, field shows, board games, multimedia games, art competition;
3. Participating meetings with service representatives (e.g. Police) and with guests-speakers who professionally deal with the subject of road traffic.
