The State Fund for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled has launched the implementation of the program "Assistance to disabled persons injured as a result of natural disasters or crisis situations caused by infectious diseases".
Who is this program for?

The recipients of assistance under Module III are:
1. disabled persons with a current disability certificate;
2. disabled children and young people with a current disability certificate issued before the age of 16.

Financial assistance under Module III is granted to disabled persons who, as a result of the epidemic threat and the state of epidemic, have lost, in the period from 9 March 2020 to 4 September 2020, the possibility of using (for a period of at least 5 consecutive working days) the care provided in a rehabilitation facility. This assistance is provided in the form of co-financing of costs related to the provision of care at home.
Amount of aid
The amount of aid is PLN 500 per month per one disabled person, but the period for which the benefit may be granted cannot be longer than 3 months. In each of the months shown in the application for benefits under Module III, it must be impossible to use care in a rehabilitation facility for at least 5 consecutive working days.
The benefit is not due for the month in which the additional care allowance was paid, granted in connection with the Act on special solutions related to the prevention, counteracting and combating COVID-19, other infectious diseases and crisis situations caused by them.

The support is addressed to people with disabilities who are:
1. participants of occupational therapy workshops;
2. participants of community self-help homes, functioning on the basis of the provisions of the Social Assistance Act;
3. residents of day-care social welfare homes, operating on the basis of the provisions of the Social Assistance Act;
4. charges of rehabilitation institutions whose activities are financed from PFRON funds on the basis of art. Article 36 of the Act on Vocational and Social Rehabilitation and Employment of Disabled Persons;
5. participants of programs approved by the Supervisory Board of PFRON and under these programs benefit from the support provided by rehabilitation facilities;
6. adults (18 to 25 years of age) participants in rehabilitation-and-education classes organised in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of National Education on the conditions and manner of organising rehabilitation-and-education classes for children and young people with severe mental retardation;
7. adults (from 18 to 24 years of age) pupils of special educational centres and special educational centres operating on the basis of the Law on School Education.

Applications through the SOW system can be submitted from April 10 to September 4 this year.
