The "We have a chance" project as part of the government program for equalizing educational opportunities for children and youth
In the school year 2008/2009 we started the implementation of the project "We have a chance" as part of the government program of equalizing educational opportunities for children and youth in 2008 "Activation of local government units and non-governmental organizations". As part of this project, students of our school have the opportunity to develop their interests and skills. In addition to trips to the swimming pool, theater and cinema, children take part in music and art classes. This year, they were enriched with ceramic workshops, during which children had the opportunity to work with a potter's wheel. Part of the classes was devoted to the art of origami – various spatial forms were created: balls, trees, flowers.
Part of the art classes was devoted to familiarizing children with the technique of painting on glass. A series of oil paintings "Monuments of Wieliczka" was also created. In the pre-Christmas period, children made Christmas tree decorations, which could be purchased at the Christmas market organized in cooperation with the Center for Culture and Tourism in Wieliczka.
As part of the "We have a chance" project, students of our school had the opportunity to watch the following films: "Expedition to the Moon", "Garfield. Festival of humor" and "Thunderbolt". We still remember the amazing adventures of the film characters, sometimes sad, sometimes funny, sometimes even terrifying. Our trips to the cinema have made us more and more willing and better able to share our observations and experiences about the films we have watched.
The children also visited Krakow theaters, where they watched performances: "Anne of Green Gables", "A Christmas Carol" and "The Adventures of Odysseus".
The "We have a chance" project created the opportunity to meet children and young people who wanted to try their hand at group singing. Participation in music classes required from the participants commitment, control over emotions and temperament and the ability to cooperate with peers. Our goal was to prepare a performance, which we gave the title "December Concert" The repertoire included winter songs, carols and pastorals. During the classes, correct voice emission, diction and the ability to sing with appropriate dynamics were practiced. Children got used to sound equipment and working with a microphone. An opportunity to present the skills acquired during the classes was a meeting with the sponsors of the school on 03.12.2008, where children presented a prepared program. A souvenir from the musical meetings for all participants will be an album recorded by Mr. Maciej Mularczyk, who also prepared background music for the performed songs. The lecturers are particularly pleased with the successful performance of the children, which proves their commitment and sense of responsibility for the result of the team's work. Music classes as part of the "We have a chance" project were conducted by Mr. Maciej Mularczyk and Mrs. Małgorzata Majka.
